1. Overview
Sun tracker - Golden Hour (the "Application", Apple App ID: 6785531885) is an iOS application developed by Md Ikramul Haque. It provides photographers, outdoor enthusiasts, and mindfulness practitioners with accurate solar and lunar tracking, golden hour and blue hour timings, twilight phases, interactive solar/lunar compass, and seasonal milestone tracking.
2. Zero Personal Data Collection
We believe your personal data belongs strictly to you:
- No User Accounts: You do not need to register, log in, or provide an email address, name, or phone number to use the Application.
- No Analytics or Tracking: The Application contains no third-party analytics libraries, advertising trackers, tracking beacons, or telemetry SDKs.
- No Remote Databases: We do not operate any server that stores your location, usage patterns, preferences, or personal information.
3. Device Location Usage
To accurately compute astronomical times (such as sunrise, sunset, golden hour, civil twilight, solar noon, and sun azimuth/altitude), the Application requests access to your device's location:
- Local-Only Computation: Your GPS coordinates are processed exclusively on your device by our built-in astronomical algorithms.
- No Server Transmission: Your location is never sent to our servers, logged, or shared with any third party.
- Reverse Geocoding: The application uses Apple's native
CLGeocodersystem framework to display your general locality name (such as your city) on the main dashboard. This request is handled directly by Apple's operating system. - User Control: You can grant or revoke location permissions at any time via iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
4. Apple HealthKit Integration (Optional)
If you choose to use the mindfulness and State of Mind logging feature:
- User Consent: The Application requests permission through iOS HealthKit only if you explicitly choose to sync mood entries.
- State of Mind (iOS 17+): When enabled, mood entries are saved locally to Apple's encrypted HealthKit database on your device as
HKStateOfMindrecords. - No External Sharing: Your health and mood data is never exported, uploaded, or transmitted off your device. It remains protected under Apple's secure HealthKit framework.
5. Apple WeatherKit Integration
To provide current temperatures and 7-day weather forecasts on the dashboard, the Application utilizes Apple's official WeatherKit service:
- Weather requests are sent securely and directly between your device and Apple's WeatherKit servers in accordance with Apple's privacy guidelines.
- You can toggle Force Offline Mode in Settings at any time to completely disable all weather queries. When offline mode is active, the app relies purely on on-device astronomical formulas.
6. Local Notifications & Reminders
The Application offers optional reminder notifications for solar events (such as 15 minutes before Golden Hour or at exact Sunset):
- All notifications are scheduled locally on your device via the iOS
UserNotificationsframework. - No push notification servers, tokens, or remote messaging systems are used.
- You can configure, toggle, or delete individual reminders at any time in the Reminders tab.
7. Children's Privacy
Because the Application does not collect, retain, or transmit any personal information, it is safe for users of all ages and fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and international privacy regulations.
