1. Introduction
Your privacy is of paramount importance to us. This Privacy Policy describes how Barcode+QRcode Scanner (referred to as "we", "us", or "the App") collects, handles, and protects information when you use our mobile application. We build our apps to run locally and securely, without sending your data to external servers.
2. Information Collection & Transmission
Barcode+QRcode Scanner runs fully offline and does not collect or transmit any of your personal data. Specifically, we handle your data in the following ways:
- Live Camera Feed: The live video stream from your camera is used exclusively to scan and decode barcodes and QR codes in real-time. This camera feed is processed strictly in-memory on your device and is never recorded, saved, or sent over the internet.
- Photo Library Imports: When you select "Scan Photo" to import code images from your device gallery, the App reads the selected image file locally to detect codes. The image is processed locally and discarded immediately. No photo assets are transmitted or collected.
- Local History Storage: Your scanned and generated history items (e.g., scanned link contents, SSID strings, or vCard details) are saved locally on your device in a secure database via iOS's Core Data frameworks. We do not have access to this data, nor do we sync or upload this history list to any remote servers. You can manually delete individual history logs or completely clear the database inside App Settings at any time.
- No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect, request, or store your name, email, phone number, physical address, IP address, or device unique identifiers (UDID).
3. Third-Party Services
Barcode+QRcode Scanner does not integrate any third-party ad networks, tracking platforms, or data-collection analytics SDKs. The App behaves completely statically and locally, utilizing only native Apple iOS system APIs (AVFoundation, Vision, Contacts, NetworkExtension, and Photos).
4. Device Permissions
To enable the App's features, you may be prompted to grant the following permissions, which are only used locally under your direct supervision:
- Camera Access: Required to capture barcodes and QR codes using your device's camera.
- Photo Library Read Access: Required when you choose to scan a QR code from a pre-existing photo in your library.
- Photo Library Write Access: Required when you choose to save custom QR codes or barcodes that you generate in the App to your device's photos.
- Network Extension Access: Required when you scan a Wi-Fi QR code and explicitly tap "Connect to Network". This lets the iOS system connect to the Wi-Fi network securely.
- Contacts Access: Required when you scan a contact card (vCard) and explicitly tap "Save to Contacts". This opens iOS system dialogs to add the contact information to your address book locally.
5. Children's Privacy
Since we do not collect any personal data, Barcode+QRcode Scanner is safe for use by individuals of all ages. We comply with children's online privacy protection acts (such as COPPA) and do not collect any identifiers from anyone, including children under 13.
