1. How do I change Quran translations and Tafsir?
Open Settings (gear icon) and tap Select Translation & Tafsir. Here you can browse available translations and tafsirs in English, Bengali, Arabic, Urdu, and more. Tap download to install them offline, and select which translations you want displayed side-by-side under each Ayah.
2. How does Word-by-Word meaning mode work?
In the Quran Reader, each Arabic word displays its individual meaning directly beneath the word. You can tap on any individual word to view full root word details, grammatical analysis, and listen to its individual pronunciation. In Settings > Word by Word Language, you can download additional language databases.
3. How do I download Qari recitations for offline listening?
Navigate to Settings > Audio Manager. Select your preferred reciter (e.g., Mishary Rashid Al-Afasy, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary, Abu Bakr Al-Shatri) and tap Download All or download specific Surahs. Once downloaded, recitation plays instantly without requiring an internet connection.
4. Does audio playback continue when I minimize the app or lock the screen?
Yes! Islamic Center fully supports continuous background audio playback. When audio is playing, you can navigate anywhere in the app, switch to other apps, or lock your iPhone. The playback continues seamlessly and can be controlled directly from your Lock Screen, Dynamic Island, and iOS Control Center.
5. How do I adjust prayer time calculation methods?
Go to Settings > Prayer Times > Calculation Method. You can choose from major global conventions including University of Islamic Studies (Karachi), Muslim World League (MWL), Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), Umm Al-Qura (Makkah), Egyptian General Authority, and more.
6. How do I switch the application language?
Open Settings and tap the Select Language button at the top of the page. Choose from English, বাংলা, العربية, Bahasa Indonesia, Français, Deutsch, Türkçe, Urdu, and over 20 other languages. The interface updates dynamically.
7. How do I jump between Surahs or Ayahs while reading?
In the Quran Reader, tap the Menu (☰) button on the top navigation bar to open the Surah Drawer. You can search across all 114 Surahs, view Revelation type (Makki/Madani), and jump directly to any specific Ayah number instantly.
8. Is the app completely free and ad-free?
Yes, Alhamdulillah! Islamic Center is 100% free and completely ad-free. We do not display third-party advertisements or sell user data. The app is dedicated to spreading authentic Islamic knowledge.
